There are several questions on the web on how to create a blog on wordpress, and even there are some people that created their blog on blogger.com due to they don’t know how to create a blog on wordpress and some even created their blog on wordpress.com. But here I will show the fastest way to create a blog on wordpress, (wordpress.org) and before that let me tell you a bit story about me when I created my first blog on blogger.com and wordpress.com

In the year 2016, when I heard that creating a blog is easy and I said okay that I will have my own blog created, without identifying the best platform to use to create my blog.

I started hearing about wordpress.org although I have heard it before but I really don’t know how to create a blog with it.

DOMAIN NAME:

The no.1 process for you to create a blog on wordpress is to buy a domain name.

What’s domain name?

Domain name is your blog or website URL. For example “chinwengoziezekiel.com.ng” is a domain name.

HOSTING:

Hosting is a place like warehouse where all clothes or materials are been stored, the same way hosting is a server where all your website files are been stored.

To buy any hosting, I advise you to buy a strong hosting so that your blog will not be shutting down anytime.

Now you have gotten all the required materials, the next thing to do right now is to login to your Cpanel and install wordpress to your domain name.

Note: When installing wordpress on your domain name, you have to provide this details such as (Site Name, Site Username, Site Password & Site Email Address).

Now after installing wordpress on your domain name, you have to login with your credentials such as Username & Password.

Body- this is the content of your post

Trackback- other sites can be linked back to your blog

Permanent link- every article that you write has a URL

Comments- this allow readers to post comments on your blog.

Start Configuring Your Blog From Dashboard

Now after successful login, the next thing to do is to configure the blog from dashboard like installing themes, plugins, creating categories, adding post, pages, changing permalink, Setting static page & changing site title, etc.

Let’s start from installing themes on the blog, but before that, what is a theme?

A theme is the design or layout of your blog or website.

Installing Theme

So to install any theme, hover your cursor on “Appearance” now click on “Themes” see screenshot below:

Installing Plugins

To install any plugin of your choice, kindly hover on “Plugins” then click on “Add New” you will see plugins displays on the page (you can only see this displayed plugin if you have internet connection), and if you have any plugin on your computer, then click on “Upload” select it from your computer. How to create categories

Here is how to create categories on wordpress, to create any category click on ‘Categories” as shown in the screenshot below:

Adding Post

To add a post on your blog, hover on “Post” or click on post then click “Add New” to add a post as shown in the screenshot below:

Adding Pages

To add any page is very simple, just hover your cursor on “Pages” or click on pages then “Add New” as shown in the screenshot below:

Changing Permalink

Here is the process to change permalink of your blog.

Permalink is a way your post displays on search engine. For example we have a permalink structure like this:yourname.com/10/2/2020/fastest way to create ablog on wordpress. The name of this permalink above is called “Month & Name”.

And we also have this below which is called “Post name”. Example: yourname.com/fastest way to create a blog on wordpress.

How to change Site title

Maybe you made a mistake on site title during the installation of wordpress, and you want to change it here is a way to do it. Click on settings, then you will see “Site title & Tagline” delete the former site title and enter new one as shown in the screenshot below:

Now you have configured everything on the blog the next thing is to see how the blog looks like.

To check how the blog looks like while still on the dashboard, hover on “Site Title” you will see “Visit Site” right click on it to open on a new tab, then there you see how the site looks like as shown in the screenshot below:
